North Carolina-based sculptor Patrick Dougherty weaves dreamlike sculptures out of woods, twigs, vines, and any such natural tree-derived materials available to him.

The sculptures that you see on the images exist only for a fraction of a second, which consists of normal salt, colored with pigments. The salt is placed on a thin foil of plastic which is wrapped on top of a speaker, and as soon as the speaker emits sound, the plastic foil starts to vibrate, forming these strange figures.

Caux Collective Recommends: Brock Davis
These beautiful images are brought to us by American award-winning, multidisciplinary artist, Brock Davis, with every one of these stunning photographs having been taken using nothing more than his iPhone.
Davis, who’s lengthy job description includes the titles Art Director, Creative Director, Artist, Designer, Illustrator, Photographer and Conceptual Thinker, doesn’t only specialise in photography. His wonderfully vast, content-rich website provides many examples of brilliant work, crossing the boundaries of Editorial Art, Advertising and Apparel designs, though it was his project, “2012 iPhone Photos” which impressed me most.
This excellent project is undoubtedly proof that it is not the equipment or media that creates a great artists, but the artists themselves. That is not to say that the iPhone camera isn’t impressive, of course. What it lacks in depth of customizable options and legitimacy in terms of being ‘real camera’, it more than makes up for in it’s maneuverability and social interactivity, and Davis has taken full advantage of it’s potential, in creating these beautiful images.
